Chiang Mai International Airport

Many locals and tourists pass through Chiang Mai International Airport. It’s the gateway to Northern Thailand with over 2 million people arriving and departing each year. Flights come to Chiang Mai International Airport from China, Taiwan, Laos, Singapore as well as Bangkok. It’s only 10 minutes to the city centre by taxi where you’ll find exciting bars, Thai restaurants, street markets and plenty of entertainment. There are other transport options to and from the airport like rental cars, mini shuttle buses or songthaew. Withdrawing money isn’t a problem either, there’s no shortage of ATMs dotted around the airport terminal. If you need a bite to eat, enjoy Thai or international food at one of the food outlets. Enjoy a coffee, fast food or try one of the delicatessens for authentic Thai food. Before your flight, check out the shops that sell handicrafts, souvenirs, silk goods and fresh food.

If you’re having a short break or longer in Chiang Mai itself, hotels are only a short drive away. Many of the popular hotels also provide minibus services to and from the airport for their guests.
