Itineraries

8 Days / 7 Nights – North Andaman Sea (Taplamu-Taplamu)

Thailand Aggressor Itinerary MapWhile the on-board experience of the Thailand Aggressor is excellent, it is the diving that draws most people to the yacht, and divers will love the comprehensive itinerary put together by the dive masters. Over eight glorious days, divers can experience the beauty and diversity of the stunning North Adaman Sea, visiting world-famous dive sites as well as those hidden gems reserved for those in-the-know.

Beginning on a Saturday evening, divers will board the Thailand Aggressor in Phuket, a hub for divers from all over the world. The yacht will then set off for its Andaman Sea adventure.

The itinerary includes several dives around the Similan Islands, widely considered one of the top ten diving areas on the planet. Nestled within a protected national park, the ecosystem around the nine Similan Islands is home to a dazzling variety of thriving marine life and boasts exceptional visibility of up to 35m.

At these sites, divers should keep their eyes out for animals including scorpion fish, moray eels, giant travelly and tuna. Lucky divers may also spot a graceful whale shark or manta ray, and sea turtles are also known to frequent the area, depending on the season.

Spotting a whale shark in the wild is an amazing experience for divers of all levels, and the Thailand Aggressor includes a stop at one of the world’s best places to see them: Richelieu Rock. As its name suggests, it is the site of an enormous underwater limestone rock that is the key part of a varied ecosystem. Here, divers can expect to see marine life from the tiniest seahorses through to the large whale sharks. It’s no wonder Richelieu Rock is considered one of Thailand’s best dive sites.

As well as the dazzling beauty of the Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock, the Thailand Aggressor reaches two other fabulous dive locations: Koh Bon and Koh Tachai. Both of these spots offer exceptional diving, well away from the crowds, meaning they can be enjoyed in peace and quiet.

Beautiful Koh Bon in particular is popular with large marine creatures, with whale sharks and eagle rays frequently stopping by. In addition, the beautiful and colourful coral reefs are home to a spectacular variety of macro life who thrive amongst the bright soft coral.

A little further north, Koh Tachai is a relatively undiscovered gem that is best explored with the assistance of an experience dive master like those aboard the Thailand Aggressor. Its deep waters are home to large marine species such as leopard sharks and manta rays, meaning it offers the chance to come face-to-face with some of the ocean’s most spectacular and awe- inspiring creatures. The landscape itself is spectacular, with swim-throughs and tunnels to excite and inspire divers.

Overall, divers aboard the Thailand Aggressor liveaboard can expect to experience about 30 mesmerising dives, not to mention plenty of relaxed evenings enjoying the views and sun, perhaps on the deck or in the jacuzzi.
