Itineraries

Of course, the most memorable moments of the trip are likely to be experienced in the water rather than on the boat, as the MV Giamani visits some of southern Thailand’s most awe-inspiring dive locations. Southern Thailand has long been considered a diver’s paradise, and the crew’s expert knowledge ensures that each guest has the opportunity to enjoy the diverse and rich dive sites, including visiting some hidden gems.

For flexibility, MV Giamani offers two main itineraries with regular departures for both.

2 Days / 2 Nights Trip to Hin Deang, Hin Muang, Koh Haa, Phi Phi and Phuket

The first two-day, two-night itinerary departs from Cha Long pier, where divers can enjoy their first delicious on-board dinner as the MV Giamani cruises towards Koh Haa. After a comfortable night’s sleep, the first stop is around the island of Koh Haa, and then the undersea mounts of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. Divers can expect to see an amazing variety of marine life including graceful Manta Rays, colourful Red Tooth Trigger Fish and spotted Clown Trigger Fish in this spectacular area.

One of the main benefits of the MV Giamani is the ability to be responsive to the conditions, so the diving on the first afternoon is flexible – perhaps continuing around Hin Daeng and Hin Muang amongst the big fish, or alternatively returning to Koh Haa for a relaxing sunset dive.

The second full day features several stunning dives beginning around Ko Bida Nok or Ko Bida Nai, both located near the south end of beautiful Koh Phi Phi. Around these two gems marine life is rich and varied, with the opportunity to spot creatures including zebra sharks and stingrays. After this dive, the MV Giamani will then meander toward Phuket, stopping for two further dives at the beautiful coral-encrusted Shark Point and the macro-covered walls of Ko Doc Mai to spy more amazing marine life.

4 Days /4 Nights Trip to Similans, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Surin & Richelieu

This four-day, four-night trip departs from Chalong Bay and cruises towards the Similan islands. The first full day begins with a dive on Anita’s Reef, a comfortable dive set amongst the stunning Similan National Park. The MV Giamani then moves on to the West of Eden, which features soft and hard coral blends, boulders and an array of fish, turtles and sharks. Following a delicious buffet lunch, the afternoon includes a stop at the giant boulder of Elephant Head Rock and the finally a beautiful night dive at Donald Duck Bay.

On the second full day, the MV Giamani departs for Koh Bon, with two exciting morning dives on the Koh Bon Pinnacle and Koh Bon West Ridge; at both sites, it is common to sight Manta Rays, as it is at Koh Tachai, the next dive location. As the sun begins to descend, a stop off at the Koh Tachai beach is a possibility, followed by a sunset dive to cap off a wonderful day.

The third day of the trip aboard the MV Giamani is a particular highlight, as it begins with a deep dive around the Koh Tachai Pinnacle. After this, the boat departs for the stunning Richelieu Rock, an area that delights even the most seasoned divers as it is one of the best places in Thailand to dive with graceful whale sharks. The final dive of the day can either be one more in this gorgeous area, or perhaps at The Boonsung Wreck.

The last day of a memorable voyage begins with an early start – but one that is well worth it to dive The Teak Wreck, a hidden gem often overlooked by other divers and dive companies. After the early morning dive, there is time for a final stop at the Naiyak Wreck, a fantastic macro life site. As the boat heads back to Chalong Bay, there’s the opportunity to relax and also to reflect on the amazing diving memories made aboard the MV Giamani.
