The Gallery

The Gallery is an upmarket restaurant and art gallery located on the banks of the scenic Ping River in central Chiang Mai. They serve a selection of Thai and international favourites, and also offer a range of local artwork for customers to peruse and purchase. The quality of their cuisine is remarkable and is well worth seeking out for all tourists visiting the city, in particular, the riverside setting is very romantic and fantastic for couples.

Their Thai menu is particularly extensive, including steamed or fried whole fish dishes, Thai curries and soups, and several vegetarian choices. The restaurant itself is a family-owned and run business and has won many awards, and has also played host to numerous famous guests from around the globe. The location right on the banks of the Ping river offers diners beautiful views and a calming and relaxing environment in which to enjoy their meal. They are also able to offer a range of imported wines and beers alongside a range of cocktails and fruit shakes.

How to Get There

The restaurant is only about a kilometre from the Tha Phae Gate, follow the Chang Moi Road east from the moat until you cross the footbridge, then turn right once on the other side of the river and the restaurant will be on your right-hand side. If driving, you’ll have to cross the river either at the Nakhon Ping bridge about 100m north of the footbridge, or the Nawarat Bridge a little way south. It’s only a few minutes’ drive from the Old City.

The restaurant and gallery are open daily from midday until 11 pm.
